Ministries
Among the ways that the witness of our Christian love
in action assists those persons in our own community with
special needs are our
Good Samaritan Fund,
Community Clearinghouse,
Community Rescue Mission,
Interfaith Community Center, Angel Food Ministry, and
Meals for Kids.
Blanket Sunday, the
annual Arkansas In-Gathering,
and s
upport for worldwide
United Methodist relief and missionary efforts witness
to our Christian faith around the world. Our
Stephen Ministers (Lay volunteers trained and commissioned
by the church) provide care to those in need. Daily Prayers
are offered through seven active Prayer
Chains. Church members regularly visit those seeking
a church home.
Thank You First Church
Thanks to your wonderful generosity with donations and the memorials made in memory of Joe Byars for missions FSFUMC was able this week to take a check to Darby Junior High in the amount of $4800 which will purchase the required lock and planner for all 600 students. Our Women’s Ministry provided lunch for teachers and staff last week also. If you want to feel the joy of doing God’s work, join us in going to Darby and showing our neighbors God’s love. We plan to have the Darby Threads club going as soon as school gets under way so join them in teaching the students; they are always in need of tutors and mentors and they really enjoy just getting to know us. On August 31 at 9:00AM they will have an Academic Pep Rally to start the school off and we are invited to come and share in this time with them. Hope to see some of you there. Rev. Beth Turner
