When homework turns into frustration, extra support can make all the difference.
Our East Campus Homework Club gives students a calm, encouraging place to finish assignments, get help with challenging subjects, and build the confidence they need to succeed in the classroom. It’s the kind of support teachers appreciate and families are grateful for — steady guidance, caring adults, and space to focus after a full school day. We offer free after-school tutoring from 3:00–5:00 p.m. every Monday at the East Campus of Fort Smith First United Methodist Church, located right next door to Woods Elementary. Our program is supported by retired educators who bring years of classroom experience and a heart for helping students succeed. Every volunteer is background checked and trained through Safe Gatherings, so families can feel confident their children are cared for well. At no cost, students will receive:
Who Can Attend At this time, our Homework Club is only available for students at Woods Elementary, our neighbors right next door. As the program grows, we hope to expand — bringing this same support to more schools across our community, both in Downtown and East Fort Smith. Serving our neighbors is part of who we are, and we’re grateful to support students in our community as they grow, gain confidence, and thrive both in and out of the classroom. Questions?
