What to Expect We’re really glad you’re thinking about spending part of your weekend with us. We know visiting a new church can feel a little intimidating, so let us put you at ease right away. As our guest, you won’t be singled out, asked to stand up, or pressured in any way. You’re free to come as you are, sit where you’re comfortable, and simply experience worship. For families with young children, both campuses offer a nursery staffed by trained caregivers who are Safe Gatherings certified, so you can worship knowing your child is well cared for. We offer four distinct worship services across two campuses, so you can choose the setting that fits you best. Our hope is simple: to make your visit to Fort Smith First United Methodist Church the easiest and best decision you make all week. |
SUNDAY GATHERING TIMES
|
8:30 AM – Roebuck Chapel (Downtown Campus)
This is a smaller, more intimate service held in our chapel. Worship here is traditional in style, with familiar hymns, prayer, Scripture, and a sermon shared in a quieter setting. If you appreciate a reflective atmosphere and a close-knit feel, this service may be a good fit. 9:00 AM – East Campus Worship (East Campus, Faith Chapel) Our East Campus worship service is welcoming, relaxed, and community-centered. Music is modern in style, and the atmosphere is warm and approachable. This new campus and worship service launched during Advent 2025 and continues the legacy of former Faith United Methodist Church as a place of worship and ministry on the east side of Fort Smith. It’s a great option for those who live nearby or are looking for a fresh expression of church. 9:45 AM – Sunday School (Downtown Campus) Between our morning services, we offer Sunday School at 9:45 AM at our Downtown Campus for all ages. • Adults can choose from a variety of classes focused on Scripture, faith, and life together. • Youth are invited to a relaxed “Hang Time” in the Youth Loft, a space designed for connection, conversation, and belonging. • Children gather for age-appropriate learning and activities that help them grow in faith in a joyful, welcoming environment. 11:00 AM – Modern Worship (Downtown Campus, Great Hall) This service features a modern worship band, modern music, and a casual environment. You’ll hear thoughtful preaching grounded in Scripture and connected to everyday life. Dress is informal, and the space is designed to feel open and inviting. Many first-time guests find this service especially accessible. 11:00 AM – Sanctuary Worship (Downtown Campus) Our Sanctuary service is a vibrant, tradition-rich worship experience held in our historic sanctuary. This service features incredible music led by the choir and pipe organ, along with congregational hymns, prayer, Scripture, and thoughtful, relevant preaching. Rooted in the classic rhythms of Methodist worship, this service brings together beauty, depth, and energy, offering a worship experience that is both reverent and deeply alive. |
