United Methodist Women
PURPOSE: The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose it to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. FSFUMC has six active Circles that make up the Unit of United Methodist Women that represent our church. All of the Circles meet on the second Tuesday of the month except July and August. The Circles meet in member's homes, which are announced monthly. Members of the Circles join together for a Unit meeting seven times a year where a guest speaker provides the program and a meal is shared in the Family Life Center Fireside Room. For more information on the subgroups and Unit meetings, please call the church office at 479-782-5068. Find more information on the UMW here. |
PACESETTERS
The name says it all! This is a "senior" group that meets the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month - all year long, at 10am in the Fireside Room of the Family Life Center. The group also has special trips during the year that include: a FALL Foliage trip, a SPRING Fling and a CHRISTMAS lights trip. The group begins by doing free blood pressure checks at 9:30am and then the meeting starts at 10am with singing, prayer time, devotional, local program speakers and once a month the children from FSFUMC Week Day School perform. A great lunch is served at 11:30am for only $5. This group has widows, widowers and couples and definitely "SET THE PACE!" The group is coordinated by Mardell McClurkin and can be reached at 479-461-5209 for more information. Church van pick-ups can be arranged by calling 479-782-5068 for the Ft. Smith area. |
